Dan Kerr is Managing Partner of Flyover Capital, where he leads the firm’s direct venture investment strategy and works closely with founders building the next generation of technology companies outside the traditional tech hubs.
Dan’s interest in venture capital began nearly two decades ago as an intern at KTEC, where he saw firsthand both the entrepreneurial potential of the region and the need for more institutional capital investment. Before joining Flyover, his career spanned early-stage startups, growth-stage technology companies, corporate strategy and M&A at UMB Financial, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
At Flyover, Dan focuses on early-stage investments in applied AI and technologies transforming industries that power the American economy. He serves on multiple portfolio company boards and co-founded MidxMidwest, which brings together hundreds of venture investors and entrepreneurs from across the country each year in Kansas City.
Dan is a Kauffman Fellow and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas.
